Here are a couple more Irie Reggae playlists...

Click http://www.funkish.audio/roots-reggae-playlist/ & you’ll get a Spotify playlist, representing the core of classic Roots Reggae. You get Delroy Wilson doing his own thing, Horace Andy loves you to want him, and Bob Marley will satisfy your soul.

Many of the greats from the 1970s are represented here in this playlist — Peter Tosh, Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, and many more Reggae music legends. There is a newer one too from Jimmy Cliff celebrating the real roots rock Reggae .

Click http://www.funkish.audio/1970s-jamaican-dub-reggae/ to hear the history of Jamaican Dub Reggae in the form of a playlist that unites some of my favorite Roots Reggae classics with their dope Dub versions.

The great Jamaican producers & Dub-Masters of the 1970s — King Tubby, Augustus Pablo, Gussie Clarke, Joe Gibbs, Lee Perry and others all had their hands in creating the classics. And, they invented some totally new & amazing Jamaican music in the process.

This is the album I'm most excited about so far in 2016. I predict it will be the year's best — 1000 Watts by Quantic's Flowering Inferno project.

This is old school Reggae, Rocksteady, One Drop style with soulful singing, and mostly feel-good instrumental tracks. And yet, it has a totally modern vibe.

It's timeless, high-quality music that makes you feel good. It's also the perfect party music for summer BBQs & outside bars, so its release mid-June couldn't be better.

And, because Quantic lived a few years in Colombia, and is a big proponent of diverse Colombian music to the gringo world, there are even a couple Colombian tunes — including one, hot Cumbia/Reggae Dub type tune.

Check it out...

Watch a video of his band doing an amazing performance of one of the songs live at http://www.funkish.audio/recent-reggae/. You'll also get to hear more recent Reggae in this style there.

I recently stumbled upon an excellent article about Joe Gibbs, the renowned Reggae producer. Check it out!

He was important in marketing Reggae music around the world. He also helped launch the careers of Reggae greats like Niney The Observer, Culture, Prince Far I, and Welton Irie. In addition, he created the phenomenal Joe Gibbs & The Professionals African Dub series of albums — some of the best Dub Reggae on record.

Greek Reggae producer, Blend Mishkin, released an outstanding album in 2015, Survival Of The Fittest: https://open.spotify.com/album/6OOYjj9tk2dLBWaFYQc77Q

Soon to be released is a 12″ of the most popular track, “Original.”

Jamaican MC Skarra Mucci, alongside African vocalist Mandinka Warrior, rock the vocals on this rad Reggae song. The track has already been a hit with DJs across the globe, so they want to add a couple of new remixes.

Nice new John Brown's Body album out now on Spotify — https://open.spotify.com/album/3kfD1Dg1LJBOYjBCbiBQGx

John Brown's Body is always touring, and makes great Roots Reggae, so hopefully you'll get lucky and catch them in your town.

"High Grade" is my favorite song here — a perfect party Reggae song with a super soulful sax solo from this excellent 2016 record...
