Are You Registered To Vote?

Are You Registered To Vote?

Today is National Voter Registration Day in the U.S., though voting is a near-global phenomenon we hope all eligible Spotify listeners participate in 😉 The U.S. version of the Play Your Part hub this month is focused on Voter Rights and Representation.

First things first: Are you registered to vote if you are eligible?

If not, check out our partner Headcount here to start the process. (You can also access this page through the Spotify mobile app Play Your Part hub).

Second: First time voting, or a little rusty on what you should do to prep? Listen to these episodes and tell us in the comments below, what are some podcasts you've checked out to help you prepare to vote?

Vote By Mail - CNN

Voting is a critical part of the democratic process, and we know, voting history is complicated and is still fraught today. That's why we are excited to share these episodes curated by Fair Fight Action founder Stacey Abrams.

The struggle for voting rights in the US today - Democracy in Question?

The Docket: The Rise And Fall Of The Voting Rights Act Of 1965 - The NPR Politics Podcast

Stacey Abrams on minority rule, voting rights, and the future of democracy - Vox Conversations

Summarized here in our Defending Our Democracy Playlist:

The podcast episodes she has selected help us understand the current fight to protect our freedom to vote, how we got here, and what each of us can do to protect our democracy. These playlists and more about the electoral process and voter issues can be found on Play Your Part. Continue to check out the hub through the November mid-term elections as we will be adding more guest curations and podcast episodes.

So tell us, what social issues do you care about, and what podcasts help you keep track of how those issues are developing?

An important topic - thanks for keeping us informed!

Even tho I'm not in the US, very important topic 🙂

Two things I did immediately when I turned 18: Registered to vote and buy a scratch ticket. I won $30 on the scratch ticket.

Are you registered to actually give a flying **bleep** about your consumers? 😮 😮 😮

I am registered! However it is usually my wife that drags my **bleep** to our local precinct to actually vote 😂

While registering to vote is SO important, i was very disappointed to see Spotify promote Headcount- a partisan organization (with an advertised partner like "Global Citizen").  If you shove your politics in my face like that again, i will END my subscriptions. Very disappointed!
