Spotify compresses the audio quality of podcasts and adds reverb. Why?

Comparing the audio quality of the source and that of the episode on other platforms, it's evident that Spotify heavily compresses the audio quality of podcasts. This could make sense as episodes are saved in a kind of cache. But why add reverb? At the very least, as a creator who cares about the technical quality of the content and records in a treated environment, I would like to have the option to remove this feature.
