Adding a family member while on holiday in a different country

My family and I are on holiday in a different country and I would like to add a family member to the already existing family account. During the process of registration we’re asked to put in our address. Our underage son obviously still lives with us, but the address Spotify gets from our current location doesn’t match the home address and I cannot the process of registration. How can I still add him to the plan while on holiday?

Thanks for reaching out.

 

Unfortunately, he will have to wait until hems back at the address that you've set for the Premium Family plan. Accepting the invite should then be possible without any issues 🙂

Thanks for the reply. Not the answer I had hoped for - and I don’t really understand why Spotify insists on that policy - but it is what is. Kind regards.

Thanks for getting back.

 

I understand your frustration, however, this policy is in place due to various reasons. One of them is to prevent fraudulent activity, like people attempting to sell plan slots to strangers, even though they don't live at the same physical address.

So, I’m back home again, currently sitting in my living room. I still can’t add our son to the family plan because Spotify keeps telling me the address is wrong because we’re not in the same country at the moment. Any suggestions?

I recommend making sure that the country setting of his account matches with yours. 🙂 He can update it by following the steps in the support article.
