Block explicit podcasts in search results

My son uses Spotify on our family plan. Since the kids Spotify is aimed at toddlers and doesn't allow him to play any of the songs he likes, he uses a normal account with explicit songs disabled. However, he's getting constantly bombarded with podcasts like "I want his dick in my asshole" as the second search result for "we dont talk about bruno". This is regularly the 2nd or 3rd result on many searches. Even though it's marked [E] and it's not playable, it's still in the search results constantly and there's doesn't seem to be anything I can do to remove it.

Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread.

Content we identify as explicit is based on information we receive from rights-holders, so it’s possible some explicit content will still play even if you’ve blocked explicit-rated content. The explicit filter covers both songs and podcasts, as well as audiobooks. 
For Family plans, one can also set the explicit filter for family members from the main Family account.

@zraii - please make sure the filter is enabled as the second suggestion has the 'E', so it is indeed marked as Explicit.

And @familyman7 - the blurred podcasts should have had the Explicit tag.
The content rating is directly linked to the metadata and every podcaster has the responsibility of tagging their content accordingly, which in these cases has simply not been done.

If you'd like to report a podcast as explicit, you can do so by following the steps here and our support folks will take care of your request. 

You can also suggest the option to report content as explicit via the app on our Ideas board so that it could get support from other users as well. To do so, take a look at this page to see how posting Ideas works.

 You can see here that it starts showing as soon an we've entered a few words. It will keep showing this result even with the entire song name typed in "we dont talk about bruno". There was an X next to it when nothing is typed into the search bar, but clicking the X does nothing and the search results continue to show this.

This is getting rediculous - a search for "audio" results in this  auto result https://d.pr/i/LrwwWa (screenshot censored) - so you don't even have to hit ENTER and you're bombarded with results you don't want.

You start searching for Hendrix, but results auto-populated on "hen" flood your screen with a wall of cartoon pornography  https://d.pr/i/OsSmOQ (screenshot censored)

I've been a family plan user for a long time and loved spotify music. But I'm ready to leave spotify and advocate everyone I know leave spotify if they aren't goign to empower us to control our media better on their platform.

Typing “music videos” in the search produces explicit audio from pornographic adult videos. There is NO restriction. This is absurd and needs a solution otherwise I have to close my account so my kids aren’t exposed to this **bleep**.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post, since it fits better in this thread.

That being said, we'd like you to know we're aware of this inconvenience and we've passed all this info to our tech folks, who are looking into this at the moment thoroughly. Rest assured this is being investigated.

We'd recommend you give a look at the suggestions @Vasil mentioned above to check if you notice any difference.

I'm disappointed, though not shocked, that there has already been a post regarding what I will bring up that was closed due to it "not meeting the requirements" of an idea submission. I had no "idea" that this was going on until recently, so I think it qualifies as an idea that Spotify's customers ought to know. Spotify is supposed to be a platform that artists can share their music and fans can show their support to those artists. A place for different viewpoints to be expressed through thoughtful podcasts and storytelling. This doesn't include explicit pornography. It's outlined in spotify's own platform rules:

• pornography or visual depictions of genitalia or nudity presented for the purpose of sexual gratification

How is it then, that when two commas are typed into the search bar, pornography is not only the top, but the majority of the results? Kids use the app and could easily gain access to this type of content, and I'm sure they do. The age minimum of spotify is 13. THIRTEEN. The fact that they can access pornography simply by typing two commas into the search bar, is disgusting. I've been a spotify premium member for nearly 3 years now, and if this is not corrected, I will be leaving and streaming my music elsewhere. This is a disservice to artists, fans and most importantly the kids that are on the app. I just want to support the artists I love. But I won't support the grooming of children, because the "vetting" that is supposedly going on is at the most barely done, though I suspect it's more than likely not happening at all.

I have blocked explicit content but I can still listen to audio porn. Why?

The worst part is, if you accidentally click on it, they put it in your recently listened to and your "your shows" list with no option to click "not interested", delete, or block. Then anyone following you sees it too unless you turn off all of your social features completely. It's enough to leave Spotify completely. I dont want my kids finding this garbage.

My son came across a ton of **bleep** looking for a song.  I'm angry.  This is unacceptable.  It is against their own guidelines, but it isn't being monitored well enough. If Spotify can't fix this issue, I don't see any alternative other than to cancel my membership and warn all of the families that I know.

This is a complete BS response. My son has NO EXPLICIT on his Spotify account and he was able to listen to the podcast "LUCY **bleep**S HER PILLOW" because the content creator didn't mark "LUCY **bleep**S HER PILLOW" as explicit.

Spotify should be ashamed of itself. Cancelling.

Nice. Spotify won't even let me type the title in these comments because the title is too explicit, yet my 12 year old with NO EXPLICIT LYRICS can listen to 'LUCY F*CKS HER PILLOW'
