Can I join a new Spotify Family when I went from Free to Family around 8 months ago?

Solved!

Can I join a new Spotify Family when I went from Free to Family around 8 months ago?

My roommate had a Spotify Family account and I joined it a couple months back (I never had Premium before), but it has run out recently and they do not intend to extend it.

However, my sister decided to go Premium as well and asked if she should purchase the family subscription so we could share. Will this work or am I gonna be unable to change the spotify family? I read something about a 12 month cooldown somewhere.

Hey @noniq,

Thanks for getting back to us.

In this case, you should be able to join your sister's Family plan, provided you meet the requirement to share an address.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Hey @noniq, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

You can only switch from one Family plan to another once every 12 months, so it's possible that you won't be able to join your family's Premium Family plan right away.

There is some more information about this here

I hope this helps but don't hesitate to reach out if you need more help 🙂

Thanks alot for the reply. but I'm still not sure what this means.

I've been a Free user all my life.

I switched from Free to Family in August last year, so less than 12 months ago.

I did not switch from Family to another Family.

If I attempt to join another Family subscription now, will it work?
