My Question or Issue
We have been trying to add out two younger sons to our Premium Family account with no success. We follow the procedure by sending a link by the owner of the Premium Family contract but once the recipient wants to redeem the invitation we keep on getting the same error stating that we must live in the same address and that it seems we are trying to go into premium from a different country. But we are doing this in the same country where we pay for the Premium Family contract and in the same address. The address entered by invitee is exactly the same as the one present in the inviter`s account, so no typo issue here.

Hey @jsanchez-es,
Thanks for reaching out.
In that case, it's not about the address that is being entered, but instead, it's the account's country setting that doesn't seem to match.
You can check it at https://www.spotify.com/account/profile/ ๐
Let me know how it goes.

I am having the same problem.. i am a diplomat so i am always living abroad and its a nightmare trying to add family members. Now i live in Ethiopia with my wife and i have been trying to add her but she keeps on getting the same message that she is in a different country. I changed the address on mine but still no solution. Can you please help me
Thanks for your reply Maxim. I checked the country and one of my kids account was created while we were on vacation in Spain and was registered as a Spanish account, but the other kids account was created in Sweden, and both had the same issue. In any case, I changed the country and invited both kids to the Premium Family and it worked. So issue solved. Thanks again,
Jose

Hey @jsanchez-es,
Great, thanks for letting me know! ๐
My wife used to live in the USA. We now live together at the same address in the UK.
I am trying to add my wife to premium family, but it gives the 'you need to be at the same address, try again when you are at the same address' error.
We are at the same address. My wife is literally sat next to me, in the house we both live in.
My wife was able to change the country in the dropdown, but it still insists we are not in the same country when following the link to join my premium sub. The Spotify app is absolutely determined that my wife is in the USA.
What am I supposed to do here? I'm paying for the service but we can't use it?
.
A moderator merged my thread with this one, however we have already tried the solution given here and in my initial post.
Please help?
Hi there @RoyalViolent,
Welcome to the Spotify Community!
It's possible that her account's country is still set to the USA. I'd recommend checking out this article for more info on how to change it. Once it has been set to the UK, she should be able to join the Family plan.
Hope this helps. Cheers ๐ค

My Question or Issue
Iโve been trying to add a family member to my Family Premium plan. I sent them the invitation link, but every time they try to enter our home address, they get this error message:
โIt seems like youโre trying to join Premium Family from a different country. Premium Family is available only for family members that live together. Try again when you are at the right address.โ
Both of us have India set as our country or region, so Iโm not sure why weโre encountering this issue. Could you help resolve this?
Are one of you possibly using a VPN? If the software recognizes the devices being used to sign up as being in different countries that will likely flag it. I would suggest you (or the account owner) and your family member connecting to your home's Wi-Fi with VPN disabled, setting your home address again, sending your family member a new link to sign up and trying again while still connected to the same wifi. You should also both do a hard re-install of the app just to be sure there is no saved data of different locations. If that doesn't work, perhaps trying to sign up on the same device will work. I.e. account owner logs in on computer, sends family member invite via email, signs out of Spotify, then family member uses the invite link to sign up using the same device.
Best of luck!
