My Question or Issue
I recently signed on to Spotify and then upgraded to Premium and am still in the trial phase. My spouse signed up for Spotify Family Premium and sent me an invitation which I duly accepted after cancelling my own subscription (will end 22 Feb).
My account however still looks the same, am I still on my initial trial? How/when will it revert to the family premium? and will I loose all the playlists that I have been happily creating
Hey there @DarwinBob,
thanks for reaching out to the community !
As each member invited to a plan must have his own Premium account, your playlists and data stays the same.
In addition, to have better understanding of how the Premium for Family works you can check out this help article for further info.
Let me know if you need anything else 😃
Hi. If I have a premium account and two family members do not then they each need to sign up for a premium account at $9.99 each and then what happens? I get charged $14.99 on top of that for the 1st month after I send out invitations? That just seems weird.
Hey there @MrNesbitt,
thanks for posting!
Taken from the Premium for Family help article attached above :
To join an existing Premium for Family plan, you need to reside at the same physical address as the plan’s owner (the person who subscribed to the plan).
All members have their own personal Premium account (so you don’t need to worry about asking the plan’s owner for their username and password).
If you don't have an account yet, you’re given the option to create one as you join. If you do, and already have Premium, future payments switch to the plan owner (and any Premium time remaining from previous payments will resume when you leave the family plan).
Note: If you're subscribed to Spotify Premium through a third party, e.g. your mobile provider, you need to cancel your subscription with them to join Premium for Family.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Hope this sheds some light 😃
Hi. I wish it did but it doesn't. I read this 3x before it appeared here and now 2 more times. Nothing is mentioned about how things are charged when I do these two exact things.
1. Create 2 premium acounts for the sole purpose of adding them to my premium acount to create a family plan with 3 members.
2. Immediately after completing the above step, what charges are made to me after the two invitations are accepted?
The way it is written, getting charged $19.98 in step one and an additional 14.99 in step two (on the same day) is possible.
So premium is free for the first 30 days so my concerns have vanished... Just an FYI.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game…
