Clear steps to following an invitation

I have invited my wife to Spotify, but when she clicks on the email link, she is offered the chance to create a membership.  After creating that membership, she is not in our Family Account, but rather on a Trial account.  So the invite was ineffective.  

How can she follow the trail from a Family Invite to get on our plan?

I am having the exact same problem adding family members to my existing Spotify account when I upgraded to the Premium Family account. When they click on the invite there is no option to "redeem"; only to log in or join as a new Spotify member. Watching here for a response that provides steps so that my family members can join...
