Converting Premium plan to Family Plan when already have a full year subscription via Gift Cards

My Question or Issue

 I have a Premium account that is pre-paid via gift cards for the next year.   We would like to convert to Premium for Family account.   It seems the only way to do this is enter credit card info.   I want to be able to use the balance left of the account (a full year of Premium) and not have a credit card charged.   Do I have to enter CC info anyway?  Will Spotify use the balance on the account first before charging my CC?  Thank you

Upgrading to Premium for Family at https://spotify.com/family will convert your remaining Premium time into Premium for Family time. This can bring your payment date forward.

You'll need a credit card (or any of the other available payment methods that are listed on the payment page) to successfully upgrade to Premium for Family.
