My Question or Issue

There is an explicit content filter on my account I prefer it off, but I can no longer listen to music and when I go to disable it it tells me I can't bc my plan manager has it on but I checked with them and they showed me that it's off but it still says they have it on 2 days later *edit* I have already tried signing out and completely deleting the app my chrome cast and my google nest mini can will say it can't play it since the filter but will anyways

Hi there @user-removed,

thanks for reaching out !

Your plan member might have looked under their own settings.

In order to manage explicit content for plan members, they should follow the instructions given here under "Premium Family explicit filter ".

Let me know how it goes 🙂

We tried that and it still shows two polar opposites

Sounds the same as my issue.

I am the family premium plan manager, and ever since I temporarily set "Remove explicit content" to on, all users on all my devices refuse to show explicit content.

I've verified that `Remove explicit content` is off for all users (the control is grey, not green)

I've also purged the application from my linux box and the fresh install still lists the following line in my (plan manager account) settings:

"Explicit content can't be planed on this family account"

And I get a black X cursor when I hover over the toggle button.

Please help, some of my favorite songs have strong language.

I have followed the directions here: https://support.spotify.com/article/explicit-content/

Hi @ivolucien,

Thanks for reaching out here and welcome to the Community!

Sorry to hear you're missing out on some of your favorite tracks. Don't worry - we're here to help you out with that 🙂

First, could you clarify if you're now the only one who still has the explicit content blocked, while you're family members can listen to it again. Or is it blocked for everyone?

You mentioned you've tried a few things already, but would you mind checking off the steps listed in this article to perform a clean reinstall?

If that doesn't do the trick, it'd be great if you could send over the following info, so we can take a closer look at what's happening:

  • Make, model and OS of the affected device(s)
  • Spotify version on the affected device(s)
  • Screenshots of the Explicit Content Filter on your account page and in the app Settings

Keep us posted!
