My Question or Issue

Hi, when i browse my app under my account, I can see audiobooks which are able to be played. However when I use my kids premium family login under their iPad, same audiobooks shown as locked. What gives? Some kind of early restrictions or teething issues as it seems audiobooks for streaming is quite new.

Bad policy - easier technical fix than the greed that drives it I suppose.

Has this changed, can not believe Spotify is still doing this. Just ran into this issue.

We just realized this was an issue and are very disappointed. When will Spotify be rectifying this issue so that all users on premium accounts have access to audiobook listening hours?

Agreed, I just found this restriction today when my son, who is a member on my Family Premium account, was searching for a history audiobook he wanted to use in his learning. Spotify, please rectify this non-advertised restriction, as for the sake of what can only be a bottom-line decision, you are discouraging young people from learning because of this built-in obstacle.

I am listed as the plan manager on the family account but am unable to access audio books via the app?

My Question or Issue

We have a premium family account with everyone with their own log-ins but only I get full access to audiobooks. How can we change that?

It is simply unacceptable that for a duo membership that both members do not have the same access rights.

Found this out today as well. Have been paying for a family plan for +5 years.

This is ridiculous , who designed the feature, the new intern or the old developer that only listens to himself?

There are 9 pages of comments. Get a grip !

This is the dumbest thing. My wife cannot listen to audiobooks even though she is a member of our family premium plan. What is the point?  We will be cancelling the premium plan.

Currently any additional members of family or duo plans have to pay for audiobooks...each, except for the plan manager. All members of a premium plan should have access, or the plan manager can disable access to certain members if they desire - same as explicit content.

Please fix this Spotify. My wife loves audiobooks and can’t listen using our premium account.

Just discovered the one feature I agreed to with my husband as the reason to sign up for this service isn't available to me as he is the plan manager. Guess we will stop paying and go back to the free version. I'd rather listen to commercials than pay for features I can't access.

I sent my sister an audio book that is free for premium users but it’s locked on hers. She is on my premium account with me. Why is it unlocked for me but locked for her?

Are you both on the same family account as only the main account holder gets free audio book hours month. Or are you on exactly the same Spotify accounts e.g. Premium or Duo?  Are you in the same country?  Please check and give everyone more details!

I have the same issue, I am the administrator of the account on my premium family account and I am unable to listen to audiobooks.

175 replies out of 250M premium subscribers ain't gonna change the policy.

It is rubbish, they know it and do not care.

I have made a formal complaint to Spotify regarding this issue. I suggest everyone does the same - only way they will fix this.

Yet you literally advertise 15hrs of audiobooks a month under the family plan! So maybe change your advertising to say what you are actually selling instead of lying to your customers!

With upcoming (and another) price increase for the Duo membership, will audiobooks be available to ALL users on the account and not just the primary?  Limiting it does not support the concept of the DUO account at all.

This is ridiculous!!!, having a premium account should include all premium features.
