Family plan changing country

Family plan changing country

I have a french premium account originally, with my family we used my french credit card and a french adress. But now we moved in Costa Rica and I want to use the Family plan with my new adress.

My new adress is this one : San José, Rivas, Guadalupe, Costa Rica

It is a very small town so I can't enter more detail !

The thing is when my family members try to enter this adress, it says that the adress is not the same than the family plan, not the same country. It seems this is because my account is French and my wife account is US for example. All my family live in costa rica so the IP or location is costa rica.

Thanks for your help

Hey @Simoncha,

Thanks for reaching out.

Have you updated your payment method to one that's been issued in Costa Rica yet? If not, you can follow the steps shown here to do that.

Once your country setting has updated to Costa Rica, you can try changing your Premium Family plan address again.

If the address doesn't autocomplete, enter the entire address, then select Find. If you still can’t find it, select your building, street name, or a close public space or building. Just don't use someone else's address.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Hello,

Thank you, that is very clear,

But when I follow instruction and change country to Costa Rica, then it says that it will be 9.99 per month, will I be able to add 6 members or is it just that here in Costa Rica the family premium mode does not exist ?

I can indeed use my credit card from costa rica and follow your instruction but i want to make sure with you i will be able to share to lower the price too.

Hey @Simoncha,

Thanks for getting back.

The current prices in Costa Rica are as follows:

So it seems to be right that it'll be 9.99 per month 🙂

Hello,

Thank you,

So I changed the credit card for a costa rican one. Now I wanted to put the facturation country adress to costa rica too, because when I try to change the adress of the family plan, the bar search only suggest me french adresses and I can't enter any place from my city of costa rica.

Any help appreciated.

also a member tried to join after declaring that her free account is in costa rica, but she got the message "it appears that you are in a different country"

Hey @Simoncha,

Thanks for getting back.

As mentioned in the support article that I linked in my initial response to your post, the changes will take effect from your next billing date. 🙂

This means that your country setting won't update from France to Costa Rica until your next billing date.

You can check your next billing date at https://spotify.com/account.

Ok thanks !

So after the next billing date (02/05), I will be able to try again to add family members of costa rica. thanks.

Hey @Simoncha,

Yes, that should be the case 🙂 Just make sure to update your address to the current one after your next billing date (before inviting the members).
