Family subscription - help

My dad has set up a family account on Spotify and he is sending me invites to join but I am receiving none of the emails! I thought the issue was that I had a premium account, so I cancelled that last month and I am now on a free plan, but still I can’t seem to join. Has anybody had this issue? How can I get it resolved?
