Family with kids under 13

I have kids both under 13 years old but I want to make the most of the family subscription. It's not much of a family plan if half the family are excluded. Why can't I allow them access to their own accounts with parental controls?

Hey @innesgray,

Anyone can join a Premium for Family plan, as long as everyone on the plan:

  • Resides at the same address.
  • Meets the minimum age and all other requirements in our Terms and Conditions.

I know that. I've read the t's & c's. My point is that that's stupid. Why do Spotify have that condition? Why don't they have some means for parents to set up child accounts that they can monitor like Apple do with iCloud Family? How can Spotify call this a family package when half of my family can't join?

I'll pass your feedback onto Spotify about this 🙂

Feel free to create an idea here to let Spotify know that you'd like to see a change in this policy.
