My Question or Issue

Pretty simple, I want to disable podcasts completely for certain accounts of the family plan. Podcasts are basically user created content with no "FSK", and not classification if their are suitable for children of a certain age.

The only alternative is to block children altogether from listening to the music they like, which is the MAIN use case for Spotify ... at least for us. Podcasts

Hey @dentrassi,

Thanks for reaching out.

Children are not supposed to be using individual Spotify accounts. Instead, they should be using the Spotify Kids app, if available in your country 🙂 You can find more info about it at https://support.spotify.com/article/spotify-kids/.

The original poster mentioned they are using the Family Plan. Spotify Kids is not appropriate for teenagers. Spotify has dropped the ball bigtime on podcast content.

My Question or Issue

I would like to exclude podcasts with inappropriate content from the device/profile of my children.

They are 9 and 10yo and some podcasts include shocking/scary content and videos. I have tried multiple times to exclude those from what they can access but the option doesn’t seem to exist, which seems an improvement much needed.

thanks in advance for your guidance

Can only agree to 100%.
My two kids are too old for Spotify Kids and I am super happy with them exploring music and audiobooks, for some time now.
But, with adding video and podcasts last year my son directly started to binge Minecraft podcasts.
All tools at hand like time limits for apps etc. do not work as I would love to allow him hearing music and books more or less unrestricted, but with the podcasts and the music/audio books being the same app the Spotify app must provide the tools to sperate that.
This issue is raised in various threads since month now, and there is no response and no action.
Please simply provide us an option in family accounts to block video for some (or all) members of that account.

...or at least say it is not done and what are the rationales behind .

Thanks Uthegen,

feels really lonely out there and I am sure in many families that goes unoticed - @Spotify is this something you can help parents with?
