Moving from Premium Individual to Premium Family

I have an individual premium plan and recently been added to a family premium plan. Do I have to cancel my individual plan to avoid getting charged twice?

Don't worry - in this case the billing switches automatically for users who already have Premium and are joining a Premium Family plan; so you don’t need to cancel anything. After accepting the invite to join your Premium Family plan, you won't be charged for your account any further; your payments will instead be handled by the Premium Family plan manager (the person who started the plan).
