Hello,
I have a Premium Family account, it's shared with my wife, but as our family consists of just my wife and me, I was thinking of changing to Premium Duo which is slightly more affordable. To change the plan, can I do it from my preferences and will our playlists remain unchanged? Thank you!
- Marco.
Plan: Premium Family
Country: Italy
Device
iPhone XR
Operating System
(iOS 10, Mac OS)

Hey @mrcmrc65, thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Great question and I understand you’re looking for a plan for two people at a good price, smart move!
When you change your plan you won’t lose any saved music and content on your account and you’re able to change plans in your account page here.
There is some more information on how Premium Duo works in this Spotify Answer for your reference.
Hope you’ll find this useful, but don’t hesitate to reach back out if you have any further questions!

My Husband and I have separate Premium accounts with extensive playlists and libraries. If we change to Premium Duo will we both get to keep our existing playlists, etc? or will just one of us get to keep with the other starting over? I won't change unless we both get to keep everything we currently have.
Hey @milarenee74,
Thanks for searching for the answer you need here!
If you want to join a Premium Duo plan you don't have to worry about losing any of your Library contents. You'll basically only change your subscription type, but this won't affect your Spotify account in any way.
We recommend having a look at this article for more info on how our shared subscription plans work.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
Hi!
Few days ago I switched to Premium Duo. But when I send invite link to my girlfriend she couldn't access to this account. She has her own account and when she tries to follow my link, the screen is showing this message in the screenshot.
Thanks for attention!
Hey @Nomad37,
Thanks for posting here 🙂
It's a good idea to try with another browser to check if anything changes.
We'd suggest she also tries with another network to see if that makes a difference.
Keep us posted.
