Music stopped playing on my phone only

Music stopped playing on my phone only

Hi

I deleted my user data and cache from the settings of my xperia xz2 and since then my content doesn't play. I can open the player and browse the menus but as soon as I select any song the page is blank, sometines with a green spinning circle. I thought it might be buffering but it stays like that for as long as I leave it.

I deleted and reinstalled the app. Same problem. I tried deleteing my user data and cache again. Same problem. I reset my enture phone and reinstalled. Same problem. Spotify content works through my hone sonos setup fine, so it must be device related.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Mark

Hey Mark, help’s here!

Hmm, let’s try to get that fixed! — Could you try to use a different network connection? Also, make sure that you’re not using any VPNs or proxies. Let me know how you get on!

All the best,

I tried it at work and same issue, so I don't think it is a firewall issue.
I did delete my user data and then the problem started. Has that corrupted it somehow?
Also, when I reset my phone it updated my android from 8 to 10. But I think the problem existed before that too...

Hey,

Thanks for trying that! Let’s make sure all left-over files are removed, could you try a reinstall one more time with these steps: https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/How-can-I-perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485? Let me know how you get on!

Thanks,

Ok. That helped find the problem. My spotify data was on my sd card but when i tried to delete it it wouldn't, saying it was the wdong version of android.
Seems like it corrupted when the android upgrade occurred. I ejected my sd card and now it is working again.
Thanks for the support
Mark
