Premium account

I am trying to find out why my boyfriend and I are not able to use Spotify at the same time. I have a premium account and being charged for a premium account. And yes we do live in the same house like the rules state. Also, I feel that customers should be able to call and speak to a person since we pay money for our accounts.

are you using an Family Premium account?

If so, you have to invite you friend to that Family account.

To invite someone to your family 

1. Go to your family Overview here.
2. Enter the name and email address of your family member.
3. Click send invite
4. Your family member should have received an invitation mail.
5. When he/she accepts it you will get an confirmation mail.

If you can’t see the invite button try to use an incognito tab, clear the cookies of your browser or use another browser.

But we have already done that. We used to be able to listen at the same time but now we are unable to.

when you're listening to music, is your friend then logged in to another account that is connected the the main Family account?

He is logged in with my acct name and password.

Hey @raidertink,

your friend has to be logged in to another account that is connected to the Family account. Only when he does so, you can listen to your own music separately. How to do that I mentioned above. Please try that steps to invite his Spotify account to your Family subscription.
