Premium family

Just signed up for premium family. I added my husband, so when he got the email does he create his own account or does he sign on under me

He can create an new account or he can keep his old account:

• If you already have a Free or Spotify.com-created Premium account: the “Redeem token” web page will open in your browser with a long redeem token number pre-filled in Token. Click REDEEM.
• If you do not have a Spotify account: you will be led to create a Free level account. After doing so, click ACCEPT INVITATION again on the email and the “Redeem token” web page will open in your browser with a long redeem token number pre-filled in Token. Click REDEEM.

We already have premiym family account. Does he sign up with his own
username and password. Because they also sent him a code number. Not sure
what its for.
