Hello, I have changed my premium account to Premium Family and opened an account for my daughter. I shared some playlists with her, the first ones are alright but at some point they all appeared empty "currently not available". I logged out and in again, I reinstalled the app, i deleted and shared the playlists again, but nothing seems to help. The app unfortunately is useles like this. What can I do?

Hi there @Komplikaethe,

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that this is happening.

Can you let us know how many playlists that you've shared are currently working? Also, make sure that all playlists you're sharing are marked as Public, as you won't be able to share Private playlists to the Kids app.

Cheers.

Hey Alex, the Playlists are all public, eight lists are working. Anything I try to share after these is empty. I also realized that even the first Playlist is not complete, some of the tracks don't show up. It's all kids stories....

Hey @Komplikaethe,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Most often people get confused by Public and Private playlists and what's showing in the profile. We'd need to see what you get when you right click a list. For the list to work in the Kids app it needs to show the following:

Could you please confirm that it looks the same on your end?

More info about Playlist privacy and access can be found here.

Hope this helps. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

Hello, sure on right click the same options appear. I can set the Playlist on private, so it is NOT private at the moment.

Also some lists worked, following did not. There is also a list with only one track shared, although there are more than 20.

All lists have the same options. This is really frustrating since the app is useless like this.

Hey @Komplikaethe

Thanks for your reply.

Would you mind trying to log out and then log back in twice in a row on the Spotify Kids app on your daughter's device? This will trigger a sync between the account and device.

If this doesn't do the trick, we suggest that you check if the Spotify Kids app has any pending updates.

If the issue persists, could you send us some screenshots of what you're seeing on your end? We'll take a closer look. You can attach them to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

Let us know how it goes.

Hey there!

Unfortunately, the problem persists after logging in and out several times. Even reinstalling and using different devices does not solve the problem. No updates pending... I am new to Spotify kids, so I installed the latest version several times.

The attachment shows the "currently not available" error when opening the Playlists...

Are the files in the playlist local files (files that you have uploaded into Spotify)? I get this same error when I try to share local files with my kids (i.e. any songs that my husband has recorded for them--we were hoping that we'd be able to share these with the kids but we can only share them with the adult accounts)

Hi, no local files. Just common Spotify Playlists...

Hey @Komplikaethe,

Don't give up hope yet!

As this might be account-related, a peek backstage would give us a better look if anything is out of order with your playlist settings. Our support folks can help with checking this for you 🙂
You can reach out to them via this link over here.

Note: Podcasts aren't supported on the Kids app. If your playlists contain any podcast episodes, you will be unable to play them from it.

Keep us posted on how things go 🙌🏼
