SOLVED: PremFam member is dropped and cannot get back

SOLVED: PremFam member is dropped and cannot get back

Premium Family, I am the account owner, 3 members.
Last week, one member was dropped accidentially (by system?).
No Error message on client side, just the information that this account is currently "spotify free" or no membership recognized.
Well, that doesn't match with the status given by my "manager"-dashboard:
Premium Family Manager tells me, that the lost client is still a member.

So who's lying to me? 🙂

No abnormalities on the other member clients, this seems like a single individual issue.

Actions taken so far to resolve the problem: Client sign off/on, member delete, member re-invite - all unsuccesful.

Question 1: How to get this lost member back into the family account?

Question 2: How to recover all client-side playlists of this lost member?

Thanks in advance,

Olli

Hey @Olli_B,

Thanks for reaching out.

If the Premium Family management page shows that the account is still part of the plan, then it definitely is.

If the person who uses that specific account isn't seeing their saved content (e.g. playlists, saved music) and is unable to use any Premium features, then they're most likely logged into the wrong account.

I recommend checking out this guide for locacting any additional accounts.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Hey Maxim!
Problem solved - we can close this thread.

Review:

  • Display of wrong account status (Spotify basic (wrong) instead of Spotify Family (right)) - unclear, but seems like a temp issue, presumably always correct but displayed wrong
  • more than one account on the same client, login to a wrong account - definitely no, there was only one account, same single account on every client, no doubles
  • most likely root cause: offline mode activated on one of the clients - this seems to have an impact on every other client connected to this account (i.e. funny behavior, missing playlists, etc...), so better keep your fingers off that switch 🙂
  • recreation of the lost playlists: well, 10 points to that smart guy, he copypasted his playlists to a text editor before that accident, and currently he is getting back all of the songs one by one via the built-in search function. Hard work and a pain in the a.. rms to type in all the song titles, but hey, these songs are not gone forever 😉

Thanks for the quick reply!

Hey @Olli_B,

Thanks for the update.

The Spotify Basic Family plan is a bit cheaper than the Premium Family plan, and has the same features, but doesn't include access to Audiobooks included in Premium.

I hope this clears things up. 🙂
