Should I confirm my address for the new Family Plan?

Solved!

Should I confirm my address for the new Family Plan?

I manage the Family Plan, and I just receieved an email asking me to verify my address so that Spotify can implement some new features. These are a Family Mix and parental controls, and neither feature is appealing.

I'm not sure what other new features are available and I'm not sure if Spotify will react poorly to me not confirming my address. Should I just ignore this email?

Hey @hidininthebush ,

If you already confirmed your address when you signed up for the Family Plan, your plan will not be canceled.

The only thing that will happen if you don't confirm your address again, is that you'll not be able to get the new features.

Have a great day 🙂

Hey @hidininthebush ,

Thanks for reaching out. I hope you're doing fine.

In order to join your new Family Plan, you'll need to confirm your address. Since all family members must live under the same roof, this is step is necessary.

Hope this helps clear things up, let me know if you need help with anything else. 🙂

Well, no you're not addressing my question at all.

If the new Family Plan is just introducing a Family Mix and parental controls, then I don't want to bother.

The issue comes with not confirming my address with Spotify. I don't want to lose my current family plan, and I'm not sure if there are any consequences to not joining the new Family Plan.

Can you please send me a screenshot of the e-mail you're receiving? (Make sure to hide any sensitive info).

Thanks.

I've attached screenshots of the email I received. I can't seem to find much more information elsewhere. That is, all other sources are just as vague as this email.

The only thing that is going to change in your plan is that you'll get started with these new features, you'll not need to sign up for a different Family Plan and nothing will change in your payment.

It's not actually a new plan, but just new features that are being added.

The reason why you're getting this e-mail is that Spotify is adding new features to give parents more control over their children's listening habits.

Also, the new Family Mix is being added and it'll provide a personalized playlist generated based on the music taste of the accounts in the same plan.

I believe that ignoring this e-mail will not affect your current plan, you'll just not have access to these new features, but I'll ask Spotify's team to clear this up and let you know when I have the answers. 🙂

Yeah, so as long as my current family plan is unaffected by not enabling these new features, then I'm happy.
