Hi,
I have got a family subscription. Unfortunatelly the family management account is set to one of my kids.
Is it possible to switch it to one of the other family accounts as "master account"?
Thanks and regards

Hi @Bozzi21,
Thank you for your reply!
When the invite to join a Premium Family plan is received, the invited Spotify user is prompted to log in, and this should include a prompt to create an account if they don’t have one already; so it doesn’t matter either way when your daughter’s new Spotify account is created.
Feel free to read more about the process of inviting members of your residence to the Premium Family plan in this support article, and let me know if you have any other questions.
Have a good day!
Hi @Bozzi21,
Thank you for your reply!
I can confirm that all Spotify accounts are independent from one another, and that most likely, you and your wife are logged in to the same account. Keep in mind that you can open your respective accounts on as many devices as you want, but you can only use your account on one device at a time.
I suggest that you double-check if your wife successfully joined your plan. You can do this by going to your account page, and under Subscription, selecting Manage members. There you should be able to see the current members of the plan.
Lastly, I suggest that your wife makes sure that she’s logged in to the correct account. If she’s using a mobile device, she can go to Settings and privacy and then select Account. There she can find the username and email linked to the account she’s using; and if they’re your account details instead of hers, she should log out of your account.
If your wife doesn’t recall her account’s login credentials, she can try the suggested steps in this support article of requesting a password reset or trying a different login method (such as with a phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google) to see if she can locate her account.
Let me know how this goes, as well as if you have any other questions.
Have a good day!
Thank you for this information. It is very clear and helpful. However, I would like to call out Spotify itself here for having such cumbersome, user-unfriendly account management procedures (or lack thereof, I suppose). It's 2024, for heaven's sake, and Spotify's account management still seems like it's a hastily built application with a bunch of kludges all slapped together masquerading as account management. It's almost as if they know they're the 800-pound gorilla of the music streaming business so they don't care about improving user experience. Ok, my rant is over. Thanks again.
Over 2 years later and still no reasonable way to switch the plan manager!
