Unable to sign up... timeout?

I just bought a family subscription and managed to create a primary account fine. Now I am trying to create an account for my son and after having tried to do this several times I am about to give up. Everytime I put in all the account details on "sign up with your email address" and click submit, I get the friendly rotating "processing" thingy, but the registration does not complete. After a minute or so, it then prompts me to say that the Verification has expired (reCAPTCHA), but the progress thingy still rotates and resubmitting does not help. 

No other error message is displayed...
