Before you tell me to check what account I'm logged into, I only have one Spotify account that has basically always been premium. I joined a family plan with my partner today and after listening to music for an hour I received TWO unskippable ads that I had to close the app and reopen to get around.
WHY AM I GETTING ADS?

Thanks for reaching out. What devices does this happen on? If it's only on Desktop, try performing a clean reinstall, perhaps there is some desync issue where the Premium isn't recognized properly. If you get ads on all devices, then perhaps it is actually the case that you have some forgotten secondary account and you're logged into the wrong one or your Premium is activated on the wrong one. Consider checking out these steps to clear that out.

hey spotify kicked everyone out of my family because my card wasn’t working then i loaded again and it worked but kicked everyone out while i paid for the family plan of $23 but i would pay $19 all the other times after i’ve been adding my family back but now they’re getting ads while playing music from their playlists can someone help weve even logged out and logged back in ??
and adding onto my we figured it out but it deleted the playlists seriously spotify i’ve been with you for years now

In that case you might have several Spotify accounts & accidentally linked an old one to the Family plan. You'll find more info on how to locate the correct one here.

Im also on Premium duo. I am the account holder and my partner is on my duo. I dont receive adverts but he can only listen to 2 songs then he gets 1 or 2 adverts. Why is this happening to him?
