My Question or Issue
I want to change my subscription from premium to basic, because of the rise in the subscription. i don't get the option to basic. Should i cancel my premium and is it then possible to choose for family basic?

Thanks for reaching out!

 

Sounds like you're ineligible for the Basic plan, I'm afraid. If you don’t see Basic as an available plan in your account at https://www.spotify.com/account/manage-your-plan/, that means you’re currently not eligible.

My problem may be similar. I can not switch from Family 6 to Family 4. Family 4 is enough. Why? Thinking of canceling the subscription.

Keep in mind that the new 4 member Family Plan is not available everywhere. If you're not able to switch to it, then it's most likely not available in your country at the moment.

 

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us, and will make sure to pass it on to the relevant teams as we understand this isn't ideal.

I have similar question, I want to change from family premium to family basic. 
Can you please inform if I will lose the invited members and/or playlist? 

Did it work fine for you when you changed plan? Did you keep members and their playlist?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

If you're in a country where Basic is available and you do see it as an option, we can confirm that any existing plan members will move to the new plan with you if you switch to it. Since this would be a subscription change and music is stored on an account level, you don't need to worry about losing it because it shouldn't be affected in any way. You can find more info about the Basic plans in this article.

What constitutes being eligible ? 
I can’t wrap my head round you can’t downgrade to basic if you’re not using the audio books feature . Feels like Spotify are purposely trapping people to the premium version

Thanks for posting in this thread! We'd be happy to give you more details on Basic.

 

Basic is a subscription plan for previous existing subscribers and it's currently not offered separately. As always, we take learnings whenever we roll out something for the first time, for now it’s only available to existing subscribers.

 

If the Basic plan option doesn't appear on this page, then it is not available as a downgrade to your current Premium plan. You can also find more info in the article linked earlier by @Dessi.

Hello all.

I did not agree to the new terms and price for family premium in Germany. Generally I wanted to change over to Family Basic. I was told that I am able also afterwards. But now I see that it‘s not possible.

Does someone of you have a Club how to?

Given that no one on my family plan uses audiobooks I am looking to change from Premium to basic but cannot see this option. Does anyone know how to be eligible for this? This feature was automatically applied without the option to remove. Doesnt sit well with me that you cant remove it.
