My Question or Issue:  family premium joining.

Hello everyone.  Can someone please please help me? 

I'm a dad.  

My family have been badgering me to get "family premium".

Last night I signed up, and paid.  Everything ok.

I sent my first spotify invite to my son, (to join).  To his ipod.  Email sent.   everything OK.

Me, (dad) gets a code, to obviously help him join. OK.

(The ipod belongs to my son, and he has his own apple id etc).

My son receives the spotify invite on his ipod email.  OK

However, when he presses the "I accept",  It automatically links into MY (the dad"s) spotify account, with details of bank card numbers, and opportunitios for our son to ruin our lives.  

The code that spotify sent me is hence not used.

No questions are asked:  do you all live together  etc?

How do I sort it this?  

It's driving me potty.

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please make sure that your son is logged into his own Spotify account while he tries to accept the invite? If he doesn't have an account yet, he'll need to create one at https://spotify.com/signup first.

Thanks so much for your message. How splendid you are.

Yes, my son has his own free spotify account already. And we made sure the app was open.
I thought of (what you suggest) last night, so as a second approach, and just to make sure: We deleted his existing spotify account. And then set up a brand new one. ie we started all over again.

And the same thing happened. His ipod links straight through to my account.

Any other angles I can try?

Hey again,

Your son should go to https://spotify.com/account on his iPad, and then log out from that website. He can also make sure he's logged out of the Spotify app, just to be sure.

After he's done that, he'll need to click on the Premium for Family invitation link, which was sent to him by you via email. He should then be prompted to log into the Spotify website, and there he needs to use his own login details (email/username and password).
