multiple accounts for same person with a family plan

I have a premium/family plan account and I would like to add my home as an account holder. The entire family uses our Alexa in the kitchen and that device is set to my account. This is a problem when I am not home but rather in the car listening to my choice of music and all of a sudden my music stops and I'm listening to the music being played on Alexa. Wouldn't it be better to have a separate account for Alexa? Another way to think about it is if Spotify would let me have a second account. I've tried to set up an additional account for me at a different email address but the response is that I already have and account.

You're allowed to create additional accounts for yourself, and you should have no trouble doing so.

I'd recommend giving it another try at https://www.spotify.com/signup/.

If you're still seeing the error message, I'd recommend giving it a try on another device or entering the email address that you're trying to sign up with at https://www.spotify.com/password-reset/.
