Adding accounts to family plans - the UX is completely broken here. This seems like a bottom-line critical onboarding process that will cut down on login sharing.

 

To add an account to a family plan, the process is to send an invite to the new user.

However, the invite DOES NOTHING if the user has not ALREADY set up an account.

So really what's happening is the main account is claiming an EXISTING account.

 

This is not made explicit anywhere in the process. 

 

There should be a branch point after accepting the invite, where the user is given the option to either submit an existing account or set up a new account and have that claimed by the Family Plan owner.
