My Question or Issue

I have been on the spotify student plan for $5.99 a month for a year now. Due to space being full, I never recieved the email to “renew my verification” and was therefore charged $11.99 for this month. I understand this much, and don’t mind the full price this month, but I absolutely cannot pay that every month, and upon renewing my verification it still says I will be charged $11.99 next month. Are you unable to apply the student discount again if you forget to reverify one time? That seems ridiculous, as we’re still students and the plan description clearly says it lasts up to 4 years with no indication of this rule.

Hi there @kyl-0465,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help you get your Student plan working again.

When reverifying after the plan has expired once, you need to get a new confirmation from SheerID, but you also need to then update your subscription to Student. These are two separate steps and the switch isn't automatic. From what you've described, it seems you've successfully done the former but not the latter.

So, just go to this link and switch to the Student plan and you will benefit from the discount again from your next billing date onwards. You can always check what the next payment on your account page is listed as and make sure it's the discounted price. If it isn't, something needs to be updated.

Hope this helps.
