Student in the U.S from Canada

I'm a student from Canada currently going to college in south carolina, but i can't switch my country to the United States because I use gift cards to pay for my subscription. I would really like to take advantage of the student discount but currently have no way of doing so...

You'll only be able to change your country setting to United States once your remaining Premium time has run out.

Just follow these steps here: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/account_basics/how-can-i-change-my-country-setting/.

After you've updated your country setting, you should have no issues upgrading to Premium for Students at https://spotify.com/student.

Hey! I am in the same situation, but use my debit card (CAD) to pay for spotify. All of the cards I own are linked to my canadian account. any ideas how I set up a payment method/billing address with this issue?

The easiest way would be to switch your payment method from a debit card to a credit card. Most credit cards allow cross border purchases.

RBC has a US/Canadian debit visa which allows you to transfer money in and out based on exchange rates. I’d ask your branch about opening this account if you don’t have access to a credit card.
