It sounds like you might have accidentally purchased a different subscription. I'd recommend you check out your Spotify receipts page. There, you can find more info on which subscription you purchased by clicking the "view" button next to your last payment.

In case you purchased a different subscription and you want to cancel it, just follow these steps. You can then purchase your student discount here.
