Does family owner get notification when I leave plan?

My Question or Issue:

I'm wondering if the owner of my family plan gets an email or notification when I decide to leave out of the plan? Or do I just leave and no one gets a notification?

Hey @wikipedior, I'll be happy to help.

 

When you leave a Premium for Family plan, the owner does get an email notification when someone leaves the plan. You will also get an email stating that you left the plan as well.

I guess my next question is, am I able to maybe contact spotify so they can remove it without family plan owner getting a notification?

Unfortunately even if our Customer Support team were to remove you, the Family plan owner will still get an email notifying them of this change.

 

If you'd like this feature to be considered by Spotify, make sure to create an idea in the Community by going here.

Question: would I get a notification if or when the owner removes me from the plan without telling me?

You would get a notification that your Spotify account has reverted to our free version.

Am I able to remove myself from the family plan? Or does the owner of the plan have to do it them selves?

Thanks for getting back in touch.

 

You can remove yourself by cancelling your current subscription at the subscription tab here > change plan > Spotify free.

 

Also, the Premium Family owner can remove you by following the steps here.

If i leave a premium duo plan, will notify the owner of the plan?

The plan manager will get notified once someone accepts an invitation to the Family plan, yes.

Do the members other than the family manager get notified when someone joins the family plan?

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.

 

These types of notifications will only be received by the plan owner, other members will not receive info about who leaves or joins the plan.

I didn't receive a notification when my ex removed herself from the duo plan. I just want to see the email to confirm it or if it's just some sort of glitch

Thanks for reaching out. As discussed in this thread so far, the plan manager should get notified about such things. Have you checked your Spam/Junk folders too? If you didn't receive an email, then perhaps it was a one off thing where the message was not delivered. These are rare, but they can happen. The messages do always get sent by the system though.

Thanks for reaching out. Hope you don’t mind us responding in English, as this is the official language of the Community. Currently there isn't an option to notify members about Family/Duo payments, as those are not handled via their accounts. However, if there is some payment issue and the plan is about to expire, they will all get notified.

Does the other person get informed that his partner has left that plan?
