My Question or Issue

 I have a family premium account where all 4 of us benefit from spotify premium. Mine and my dad's accounts keep getting mixed though and our playlists are not separate. Even though we have separate accounts we cannot both play music at the same time. Everything he downloads goes on my phone too.

Although you're letting us know that you and your dad have separate Spotify accounts, it's possible that you're both logging in to the same one. In this case, our best suggestion would be for you to reinstall the app with these steps.

 

Once you've done that, make sure to log in with your credentials in order to access your personal Spotify account. If you're still experiencing the same issue, you can double-check the credentials you use for Spotify here here.
