How does the Family Plan interact with an existing premium account?

How does the Family Plan interact with an existing premium account?

I currently have a premium account which has a year of premium already purchased that expires next January. The rest of my family has recently gotten into spotify and would like to create a family plan. Is there a way to rollover what I have already paid into a new family plan or should they create a family plan and I join after my current term expires?

I would wait until your subscription finishes to save money. But maybe you can get back money for upcoming month and join now. Spotify refund policy does not include this case.
