My Question or Issue

I have a Family plan which I share with my wife and 2 teenagers.   My wife and I see each others:  Recently Played, Playlists, and Saved music.    I only want to see the music that I myself played, and my wife only wants to see her music.

My 2 teenagers do not see our music, and we dont see theirs.   What should we do?

Thanks for your help.   The Privacy settings were only partly successful.  My wife and I logged out and back into our phone apps, but we stilll see each others' "Recently Played" albums.  We had to delete them one at a time.

We also had to delete the Playlists that we didnt want to see, one at a time on each phone.

If Spotify had a setting that explicitly keeps your songs and history private from other family members, it would be alot more user-friendly.

Hey @Chris360m,

Your listening history should be private from your other family members, and as long as your playlists are set to private, they will not be visible on your profile.

Just to confirm, does each member of your family plan have their own Spotify account?

Hi,
Yes they do.

Hey @Chris360m,

As long as each member of your Premium for Family plan uses their own account, the listening history and saved playlists should be kept within each account. However, regarding playlists, it's always possible to follow each other's playlists or make them collaborative, so they end up in the playlist section.

Also, please make sure that each member of your Premium for Family plan does the following:

  1. Logs out from their account page: spotify.com/account
  2. Logs back in to the website with their own login details
  3. Chooses 'SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE' in their account page
  4. Resets their password: spotify.com/password-reset

Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day 🙂

OK thank you. We'll try logging out and in, by tomorrow.

Thanks for your help and have a great day.

Hey @Chris360m,

Please make sure that as well as logging out and in, that each of your family members does all of the steps I mentioned above (including signing out everywhere and resetting their password).

Let me know how it goes 🙂
