My Question or Issue

I was poking around Family Mix, and saw an option to "Join Family Mix" - I wasn't sure what this meant as I thought I was already part of my Family Mix. I clicked it, and it ended up REMOVING me from my Family Mix. However, all attempts to rejoin my Family Mix do not work. It says, "You joined Family Mix", but none of the songs update and it's clear that I have been removed. How can I rejoin?

Hi,

I never heard about family mix. Thank you for pointing me to this feature.

I tried to look for some help of this feature but I couldn't find any. The way it looks like it's a playlist you can like. But according to you, you can subscribe and unsubscribe in another way than liking the playlist?

Thanks,

René

I have the same problem.

Hi @Angieb024,

Oops, we need to fix this. Where do you get stuck? You don't see the family mix? You can't find the join button? You can join but your songs are not in the list?

Please let us know where you got stuck so we can fix this.

Regards,

René

I have a similar problem with my Duo Mix playlist. I can see it because my partner sent it to me but I wasn't able to join. While joining there appears a message: "an error ocurred. Try again later"

Hi @leoprog,

Can you please check this article. Not sure what happens when you send the duo mix to someone else.

Please let us know if it helps.

Regards,

René

Thank you, Rene01, but it didn't work. 😞

☹ Did you get the exact same error?

Not exactly, the thing is that I can't join and never could in the past :(. (Well, it's been a week since I have premium duo, but before that I had premium family)

Hi @leoprog,

What goes wrong exactly? You can find the family mix? You see the other duo member added to this list? You can play the list? You see the option: join? You can select the 'join' button?

Regards,

René

Yes, I do find the Duo Mix but it is because my partner sent it from her own to me. It still does not appear on the "made for you" list. And yes, I can see her added to this list showing her songs. I can play the list. Below shows the option JOIN and I can select it but throws an error: "an error ocurred. Please try again later".

Thank you Rene01 for your help and response.

Ok, something is wrong when you don't see it in made for you.

Who is the main account for the duo mix? You or your friend? Can you logon to your account and check? So go to spotify.com, log on and choose your account via the menu which is located top right.

Do you see spotify duo instead of premium? Your friend should do the same to check if the accounts are setup correctly.

Regards,

René

Hi again, yes, the main account for the duo mix is my partner, and yes, I do have the Premium Duo subscription as the account page says. Hers shows it too.

Ok, that looks good. When your partner navigates to the duo mix and tabs the menu, there should be an option "manage members", your account should be enabled, can you check this?

Thanks,

René

Here's what we can see from our menus. It seems I am enabled as a Premium Duo member

Hi,

I checked this with the specialists. They propose to see if it works on another device. Maybe you can logon to spotify with your account on your friends device. Then check if it is available in made for you or open the playlist using the duo mix send to you by your friend.

Thanks,

René

Hi René,

I did that on two different Apple tablets, with no positive result. When I push the "join" button on them, it says "you have joined" but nothing changes. And if I go back to my spotify app on my Android phone, after login out and login in again, there is no change at all.

Hi @leoprog,

Ok, we are getting there 😀.  We started with an error and now you are able to join without an error but you don't  see your songs.

Note: if you only listen in private mode, your songs will not be added.

Can you post a screenshot of how the mix looks like? I like to check if I see something strange.

Thanks,

René

Rene,

Yes, in the iPad i was able to select the join option but it didn't really work, on my Android I keep not being joined. There are some screenshots:

There in the last screenshot shows the error message after joining.
