The Premium Family subscription is available for family members who live together. In such case you can use this plan only if your son goes to school in the same city as you live. Also, make sure he's at your address of residence upon accepting the invite. 

It's also a good idea to check the Spotify age restrictions on users, as joining the Premium Family requires your son to have his own account. You can take a look at them here.
