Playing on 2 devices with Premium Family

Playing on 2 devices with Premium Family

I previously had a Premium account which has used to login to multiple devices. I have upgraded to Premium Family and now have 3 accounts including my own account which is setup as the manager.

My wife has signed in to her new account on her phone and is able to play music while I am listening to something else on mine. The 2nd new account has been used to sign-in to the streaming service on an Amazon Alexa which was previously linked to my account. I have tried linking this account with Alexa twice now but whenever we play music on Alexa I the music I'm listening to on my phone gets stopped despite me using a different login. How can I resolve this?

Hey @Joenicholas,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Would you mind un-linking any Spotify account connected with the Alexa device and linking yours again?

To do so:

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa app and go to Settings > Music > Spotify.
  2. Tap Disable Skill and confirm by tapping Disable.
  3. Next, tap Enable to use and follow the instructions to log in to your account again.

Hope creating a link between your Spotify and Alexa from scratch does the trick. Let us know how it goes. We'll look out for your updates!

Thank you for your assistance. I had tried unlinking and relinking a couple
of times with success but realized that my wife also had the Alexa app on
her phone which had previously been linked to my account. We relinked her
phone to the new account and all is working fine now. Able to play
different music on all devices. Thanks again for your help.
