I get the message "Spotify has been paused because your account is being used somewhere else" when my wife and I try to listen to different music. We subscribe to Premium for Family and she is signed on to this

 

 

 

 

 

 

My Question or Issue

 We have premium for family, but my wife and I cannot listen to different music. When both try to play music, the message comes up.....Spotify has been paused because your account is being used somewhere else. How can I solve this?

Hi @Bob134,

 

It looks like you are using the same user account to listen music.

You need to used separate accounts. Up to 6 are allowed in the Familly Plan.

Me, my wife and my 4 kids are using it to the full. 🙂

 

One of the users needs to be listed as "Owner" and the other as "Active" in https://www.spotify.com/us/family/overview/.

 

Typically the user who subscribes to the Familly Plan becomes the Owner and then invites other users to join.

 

I'd say you both are trying to use the Owner account, the one who subscribed to the Familly Plan. One of you needs to create a second account, with a separate email, and have the Owner account sending it an invitation to join.

 

After the second account joins the plan it can then listen to his/her own music.
