Unable to add younger family member to Spotify Premium

Hi,

My wife and I belong to my Spotify Premium for Family. I live in New Zealand, and my son has been waiting until he's old enough to join our Family account. He turned 12 a few days ago (which is the minimum legal age to join a Spotify Family outside the US). In the instructions it says he first has to have an existing account (free or premium) before we can invite him into the Family account. However, when he tries to create a free account it says he's too young.

Am I missing something, or is there a flaw in your policy somewhere? Why would you say he's old enough to join our Spotify Family account, but prevent him from doing so by having the age restriction greater than 12 for operating a free spotify account - a pre-requisite for joining a Spotify Family?
