Hello,

 

On 13/08/2019, I got the notification that I needed to extend my student subscription. I obliged and got the verification that I am a student on 6/10/2019 after which I activated the €5 subscription.

 

I only now notice that since then, I have still been charged €10 every month despite my reactivation of my student discount, meaning that I've paid 5x €5 too much. Is there any way to get this €25 back?

Thanks for posting! 

 

Bear in mind that there's a difference between verifying your student discount via SheerID and activating it in your Spotify account. If you've been verified as a student via SheerID but have not activated it in the account, then that can explain the charges.

 

Here's what you need to know so you can get the Premium Student price successfully applied to your account:

 

  1. You must first verify yourself as a student through SheerID.

  2. Then, you must update your payment details so that the Premium Student price can be applied (click on Get Discount). For this, try entering your uni email address and password. If that doesn't do it, try with the Spotify email and password.

  3. After that, to see if this worked out, you can check your subscription page.

We can confirm you cannot get a refund if you've been charged with the regular price and 14 days have passed since the billing date. This is so because it's our users responsibility to check the status of their subscription.
