My cpu gets up to 100 degrees celsius according to coretemp, good job! (I know I should probably clean my laptop, but really this is unnecessary for a forum.)

Hello!

A work around for this is to turn of Javascript since the snowflakes is generated by Javascript.

What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?

Why would I want a workaround? I want a toggle for this ridiculousness. Who comes up with this silly crap? I'm not going to turn off Javascript every time I visit one specific site.

How much CPU time is it using, and on what type of CPU?

100 degrees does seem excessive!

125+% on 2GHz Core i7, and CPU temp is at or near 100 celcius.

The point here is simply that people with computers of all different power levels are using your forum. Implementing an annoying background effect that is processor intensive is illogical. This forum's maintainers should be thinking of their audience, not themselves. People with computers far below that of mine or OP's will be visting this forum, and that must be taken into account when designing the site. If I want to see snowflakes, I'll look outside, not at my computer.

Also, what about people visting here from anywhere that doesn't get snow? Again, not thinking about their audience!

I don't imagine that Spotify thought they'd get such an angry response to a bit of festive cheer on their community forums!

For heaven's sake man, if you use Chrome just turn off javascript for the one site. Job done.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes the fans don't work so good, but that's normally no problem at all just for websites. I don't use Chrome.
