Audio book listening hours

Audio book listening hours

Does anyone else think the audio book listening hours should be free??? Or at least sold in bundles? Iโ€™m tired of buying 10 hour top ups for 15$. I would much rather prefer to pay an additional fee for unlimited listening hours. Honestly anything would be better than paying or having to wait until the next month.

i would love unlimited!!

Yes. I believe that we already pay for the service, so they shouldn't charge extra and limit what is included in the premium tier. We can't listen to music and books, or more than one book, at the same time. Some of the very titles that I had saved, before I found out that premium users would get free audiobooks, were not included after the fact. That seems deliberate. It's like they were trying to get me to buy them. The premium subscription should include everything, since it is the top tier subscription. 15 hours is very limiting, especially for someone that might go pretty quickly through books. I didn't even know that you could buy more hours. That's a rip off. That's almost the cost of the whole service, per month, with 5 hours less of audiobook listening. Spotify should, at the least, offer an option to add to the premium subscription, for unlimited access, like you mentioned, for only a few(actual definition of the word) dollars more.

If you're asking about typical listening hours for an audiobook, it can vary widely based on the length of the book and the listening speed. However, a few general points might help:

  1. Average Length: Most audiobooks are between 6 and 15 hours long, but some can be shorter or much longer.
  2. Listening Speed: Many people listen at 1x speed (the normal speed), but it's common to listen at 1.25x, 1.5x, or even 2x speed to get through books faster.
  3. Daily Listening: If you listen for 30 minutes to an hour a day, you can finish an average audiobook in about 1-2 weeks.
  4. Total Hours: If you listen to one audiobook a month, that's roughly 72-180 hours of listening per year.

Iโ€™ve just had the same problem. I use reading as a way to help my mental health and with dyslexia having the audiobook is so helpful. With the large variety of books they offer the 15hours doesnโ€™t seem enough. Currently reading a trilogy and hours have run out already! Really not happy as I have used Spotify for years and find it better than other services out there. Was really happy hen they introduced audiobooks as other services are expensive and have tried to use different sites for audiobook but nothing compares. Really wish they would change this

Yeah I think it is an actual pathetic scam that I only get 15 listening hours especially since I have premium and most books are way longer than 15 hours.

No I want unlimited listening hours. Duh.

I completely agree! Having to pay for audiobook listening hours or waiting for the next month can be frustrating. An option for unlimited listening hours or bundles would be way better. Itโ€™s like buying Biker Jacketsโ€”you want something that lasts and provides value without constantly having to top up! Unlimited access would make for a more enjoyable experience.
