I'm a paying customer - paying for listening to the music I LIKE, not to listen your political agenda. Why I should listen to such titles as "Richard Pryor - Niggers vs. The Police" or "N.W.A - **bleep** Tha Police". This is on your "Black Live Matter" playlist!.
If this playlist won't be removed from my home-screen I'm cancelling my subscription!
Agree 100%
Spotify needs to sort this out.
They are losing a lot of customers.
The forums may not enjoy the attention from Spotify developers that we think they do, so perhaps if we want Spotify to step up their game and stop pushing politics, we can add a vote and a comment on this topic instead:
Steps I've taken so far and recommend:
Hi @Spotify, as far as I know, I PAY for my premium subscription each month to listen to the music of my choosing. Please don't shove your political agenda down my throat. #myspotifymychoice #backoffwithpolitics
Oh it isn't a big deal at all. I literally do not care about BLM, and after the awareness has spread, I have just reconfirmed my suspicions that this is a violent group of thugs who deserve no support, either domestically or internationally. Now that I am aware of this violent gang, can I please stop being made more aware of how out of control they are over there in America? I am not an American, and thanks in no part to political claptrap like BLM I am eternally grateful that I do not live there and have no desire to do so.
Still not the place to have this issues, especially on a payed subscription... add free!
Just came to say that recently i've become really **bleep**ing annoyed on this political advertising. I've been on spotify for 9+ years but really if this is the future, i'm gonna try the 4€/4months offer by Tidal i got. I'm here just for the music, I dont want to support any political platforms.
Oh, it totally is a problem. I use this platform to consume music, and only that. I don't want to have any kind of political propaganda shoved down my throat. Moreover, I'm in Finland; how do US politics concern me? Why do I need to see this? Get it off my front page.
Can I start a cause for the little white girl decapitated in front of her parents by a somalian immigrant in a park in Bolton?
Can I start a cause for all the white people being murdered in South Africa?
Can I start a cause for the other 76% of people murdered by police in america?
Can I start a cause for the children raped by Muslim grooming gangs who the police turn a blind eye to all the time?
You wouldn't like any of this on your spotify so why should everyone else have to put up with propaganda on a music streaming app?
Get rid of it.
The very fact there a riots and looting going on by majority black people in itself proves they are just as free as everyone else. Slaves wouldn't have been able to leave a property let alone loot a store
No one is saying white lives don't matter. The BLM movement is to emphasize the lack of attention that is brought to systemic racism and violence that black people face every single day. If you are not with the message, you are part of the problem. Check your privilege and the internalized racism that you are spreading on this thread.
Totally agree! I'm very ready to drop Spotify if this isn't corrected immediately. Have already sent messages to them regarding this. If it hasn't vanished by noon today then good riddance Spotify and hello Tidal!
What systemic racism and violence are you talking about?

If I may, let's not let this thread derail into a political discussion. That's not the point. The point is exactly that pushing political views is a trend that needs to end sooner rather than later, especially when corporations like Spotify jump on a bandwagon. I am only interested in their music streaming service, and I think it would greatly improve their service firstly if I could flag and remove their curated content like the BLM nonsense, and secondly if the start screens become customisable.
I do not care for politics, and I hope Spotify realises from the backlash here and on social media in general that going woke was not exactly a wise move. But the point is not to criticise BLM, or woke politics, or any political stance - the point is that jumping on any politcal bandwagon is going to have a similar result. Stay the **bleep** away from politics and concern yourself with improving your customer service.
How is this not political? BLM is actively promoting these protests through many channels, now including Spotify. It's no different from any other media company. Add to that, the "music" in this playlist glorifies violence, crime and murder.
Spotify is actively siding with BLM, an organization that refuses to denounce the murders, looting and arson attacks going on in the US. Have you lost any regard for the law or human decency?
All I can do is cancel my subscription and frankly, I don't know if even writing to give you a chance to respond is worth the time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one extremely frustrated by the complete miss of a 'recommendation' in my start screen feed. A friendly reminder of the steps I took, and I urge anyone feeling the same way to do the same. Have a look at this thread instead:
