Some users like to collect albums by various topics
Playlists do not fit this need if like to listen to full albums.
Album collections should then also have a shuffling and collection radio.
Is this really not a feature on Spotify? Maddening. Not great for a paid service. Any prospect of this coming?
Hey @VMARKUS_K.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this.
What you could do is make a playlist out of an album by clicking on the three-dot menu and selecting 'Add to Playlist'. You can then add this playlist to a folder along with other playlist albums 🙂
Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any questions.
This would be an immensely helpful feature - creating giant "Playlists" of things like "My favorite Hip-Hop albums" or "My Favorite 70s rock" makes it VERY messy for those who would like to listen by album. Playlists work best for collections of individual tracks, not albums.
In its current form, Spotify's user-controlled music organization is VERY poor, especially for a paid service. This simple option would definitely help a lot
This idea is powerful, but it can even go further from just albums. Creating collections of music items (Albums/Singles/EPs, Playlists, Artists, Songs) would allow for a whole new level of music management. I hope you reconsider.
It is not the same thing to make a playlist and making an album collection. A playlist works in a time line. We just want to be able to browse our albums in a way that is not completely random.
This feature is required urgently. Imagine how you organized your CD or LP collection. You always have a stack like ‘need to listen to / check out / new’ or a stack for ‘favorites’, ‘favorite metal albums’ etc.
A playlist doesn’t help here as the view is on songs which is messing up the overview.
What we need is a feature to group complete albums.
I assume this is not a huge development effort but would have a huge positive effect for everyone who loves music!
