Hello, im using a macbook pro in combination with an ifi nano IDSD dac. This dac is equipped with an LED where you can see the bitrate by the color of the LED. Normaly this LED was white (manual dac says DSD352/384 kHz). But now the LED color is Cyan (192 kHz). So the bitrate (soundquality) has been reduced. Please explain.
Everything streamed from Spotify is 44.1 kHz, that's the standard sample rate for the formats they use (Ogg Vorbis, AAC, HE-AACv2).
The LED you're seeing on your DAC shows the sample rate at which your Macbook is connected to the DAC, which only determines the maximum sample rate that can be played from the Macbook to the DAC, not the actual sample rate of the content you're playing (since it would have to show 44.1kHz when playing music on Spotify, if that were the case).
So I don't think this is related to Spotify, it must be related to Mac OS, the driver for your DAC or some other software, because AFAIK Spotify can only output at 44.1 kHz, since that covers all of their content.
