My Question or Issue

As most Discord users know, Rythm and Groovy, 2 of the largest music bots on Discord, have received cease and desist orders from YouTube, forcing them to shut down their services. I myself was developing a Discord bot at the time, which had music-related commands. But, after the shut down of the 2 bots, I wondered how I was going to make my music commands, because, if my bot ever became well-known, YouTube would come for me next. So, I cannot use YouTube as a music source. I am a long time Spotify user, and hence wondered if I could use Spotify instead of YouTube for playback of music. Please let me know if it is permitted or not.

Thank you.

I'm 100% sure that's not allowed

You cannot access a raw audio stream using the Spotify web API or any other developer facilities. You can only control playback on native Spotify clients.

Is there any other source I can use for my bot? (not YouTube, obviously)

I'm pretty sure any source which does allow it is illegal, music is copyrighted and you can't use it in such a use case to provide it for free to an unlimited amount of users (unless you have a custom contract with each music label)

what if you didnt launch the bot publicly like mee6 or rythm and kept it private for you and a couple of friends?

I could, but the plan is to release it publicly
